Ya your right.. Shut down the VM before editing option or just simply "viewing" them.. UTM still lives in the stone-age. I don't believe there was ever a fix.

Hi there, i've just came across your video while trying to recover some images from an old, corrupted harddrive. With DMDE I can recover the images, meaning i get a jpg file of some kb's or mb's. So they are not empty but when i open them i get the error message that the data type is not supported. Do you have any advice?

so at 11:10 when you're recovering the virtual machine files, are those deleted and you're actually recovering them? or are they normal files that you would be able to see when connecting the drive to the computer? edit: when you perform a full scan on the drive, that means you'll be able to see and recover the deleted images right?
